Smiles for Speech

Sandy Dorsey, founder of Smiles for Speech, will be sharing how her commitment to helping children with special needs prompted her to start Smiles for Speech. She will share her strategies and experiences. Sandy’s goal is to help improve the lives of children in impoverished countries in a sustainable manner so that they can express themselves and live life at their full potential.

We will also hear from Marilena, an eLuma Speech Pathologist, share how she makes a difference in the daily lives of the people she works with by successfully using various AAC systems and strategies.


Sandy Dorsey is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She is the owner of All About Speech, LLC, a private practice based in New York City that offers speech-language services to school-aged children with speech and language disorders. For over 20 years, Sandy has provided diagnostic and therapeutic services to wide-ranging populations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Howard University and a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Marilena Golzi has been a speech-language pathologist for 27 years. She has worked primarily with children and young adults in in-person sessions. She has training in multiple communication systems and has extensive experience working with students who have complex communication needs. This year, she has been seeing all of her students and clients virtually since April. She is excited to share how she has successfully used various AAC systems and strategies to make a difference in people's daily lives.
